This Huipil top (squared shape) was woven and brocaded by hand on a back-strap loom.

Made in beautiful plum with purple accents, it's made for a loose fit.

Made by women artisans in San Juan Cancuc, Chiapas.  This Sombra top enlightens the community's traditional "lamalchil" technique itself, the detail of the traditional brocade has become a shaded square displaying the natural tonalities of the cochineal pigmented silk from San Pedro Cajonos, Oaxaca.

This piece supports sustainability by improving the lives of the people involved in its production. Every artisan is provided with a fair wage and working conditions which is reflected on the price.

Technique: "Lamalchil" - Handmade using a back-strap loom.

Origin: Chiapas, Mexico.

Composition: 90% cotton - 10% organic silk.

Garment Care: Hand wash cold gently, or delicate machine wash*. *We recommend using a delicate garment bag. Do not bleach, do not wring, do not tumble dry. Hang to dry in the shade.
